On the 8th of November, Stage 2 students enjoyed a day at Wollongong Botanical Gardens on an educational unit that we have been learning. The name of this excursion was 'Growing In A Greenhouse.'
Students visited the shade houses, which contained ferns, palms and other types of plants that require a specific degree of shade. They met the Nursery staff who showed them multiple different tips for seed raising including:
At the end of this educating trip, they received a tour of the Botanical Gardens. This included going to the duck pond which, interestingly, contained eels. They then boarded the bus which lead them to our final destination - school.
