Number Crunchers
12 August 2019 At Mount ST thomas Public School, the number crunchers Semi-Finals was hosted. Two competitors from Coniston Public School attended, Atticus Phillips 5/6W & Celeste meignen 5/6J. They gave their very best but did not make it to the Grand Final. With Atticus doing ‘Number Crunching’, and Celeste doing ‘Pi’, They both gave it their best go. They started with the ‘Number crunching’ first, while the rest were doing a robotic course, waiting for their go. Just after the ‘Number Crunching’, the group of Rubix Cubers was next. With the fastest time of 27.71 seconds, we had a winner. After the Rubix cubes, it was recess and most of the mathematical students played handball and so did Atticus! After Recess was the Pi. The other people did robotic courses while the Pi were going, just like they did when the number crunching was on. Celeste unfortunately didn’t make it with 96 decimal points. Congratulations on our participating students and well done!
