National Tree Planting Day was held on Sunday the 28 of July 2019. Many people participated in this event by planting a variety of greenery. Coniston Public School planted their trees on Friday the 26th July 2019.
This was a great chance for our students to get their hands dirty in the Earth by planting some greenery too. At Coniston Public School, we planted grasses, small plants and a variety of other plants too. There are quite a few reasons why tree planting day is being recognised, for example, global warming. We are helping to grow host to recycle oxygen and provide shade. Oxygen is what we use to live and trees supply oxygen to keep us alive. When we breathe out, we breathe carbon-dioxide, which the trees consume. After this the trees recycle the carbon-dioxide and send out oxygen which we use to stay alive. You definitely feel bothered when the sun’s harmful rays hurts your skin, don’t you? Well trees provide shade so that you don’t get too hot. Tree planting day is a great way to care and take action for our environment. It is also fun!
